Even Norwich City supporters were full of praise for the performance Newcastle United striker Joelinton put up on Tuesday night.

Both Newcastle and Norwich had to settle for a point each during their 1-1 relegation dog fight last night at St James’ Park.

But the men in Black and White had to play the large majority of the game with ten men after Ciaran Clark was sent off after ten minutes.

Joelinton, who has been highly criticised since his club-record transfer to Newcastle, impressed the opposition fans with his performance from midfield.

Given that Joelinton has struggled for goals up top, he has instead transformed into a hard-hitting midfield player.

The ironic thing about it all is that Eddie Howe needs an aggressive and quick-thinking number eight that can constantly win duels in the middle of the park and move the ball forward.

Perhaps in an unlikely turn of events, but has Howe found that player in Joelinton?

One thing is for sure, Howe has brought more out of the struggling striker already than Steve Bruce did during his time at the club, which says it all.

But when opposition supporters are praising Joelinton for his performance, then you know something is going right with the player.

The only bugging issue with the Magpies now is that they are the only winless side in the top four divisions of English football, so from a psychological and points perspective, it’s hurting them massively.

Nonetheless, here is a selection of Norwich fans reacting to Joelinton’s display yesterday:

@vorlon1812: “I had Joelinton motm and I’m a Norwich fan. Every time our play broke down he seemed to be there, and he was pushing Newcastle forward.”
