Tottenham Hotspur fans have been left less than impressed by claims in the Daily Mail that Daniel Levy is yet to give up on Brendan Rodgers.
The Leicester City boss publicly turned down the Tottenham job this week, suggesting that he wouldn’t be interested.
However, Spurs apparently feel that bringing in the Foxes manager is still a possibility.
They are said to be hoping that Rodgers will have a change of heart, if Leicester’s season doesn’t work out the way he was hoping.
But Tottenham think that the plan is a ‘desperate’ one and they have urged Levy to move on.
Levy’s desire to bring Rodgers in is understandable, given the success he has had at Leicester, Celtic and Liverpool.
He is arguably the finest British manager around – but it does seem like only a dramatic change of heart would see him at Tottenham.
Spurs have plenty of other names to choose from and if Levy does want a quick appointment then focusing on finding another manager from their shortlist may be the best option for the North London side right now.
