Former Tottenham Hotspur defender Jonathan Woodgate does not believe the club should be written off.
Former Tottenham Hotspur defender Jonathan Woodgate has backed the team to bounce back from their recent setbacks, speaking to 888Sport.
Spurs were eliminated from the Champions League last week before losing their first Premier League match of the season.

Woodgate believes Tottenham have a strong team full of leaders on and off the pitch, which will ensure they do not continue to lose many matches.
He said: “You can spin it both ways with Spurs because they’re a hard team to beat. They have a fantastic manager down there and a young squad and 100% you cannot write Spurs off because they’ve got a young, hungry group of players.
“If you look at last season and how close they came. I know they fell away and got stuffed up at Newcastle but they’ve got leaders in that team, with the likes of Harry Kane, Vertonghen and Alderweireld.
“Dier is a young lad but he’s a leader too. Then you have the Lloris in goal, so there are leaders throughout that team and they can’t be written off.”
Tottenham’s Harry Kane
Spurs were boosted today by the news star striker Harry Kane has signed a new contract with the club until 2022, confirmed via the club’s official Twitter feed.
This is exactly the type of lift the side need, and gives fans reason to be optimistic ahead of their home fixture against Swansea City this weekend.
Now they just need star goalkeeper Hugo Lloris to follow Harry Kane’s lead and commit his future to the club, and they will have their key stars locked down for years to come.
