Newcastle United face Leicester City on Sunday afternoon, and a victory against the Foxes will all but secure Premier League survival for the Magpies.
Indeed, a victory here would put Newcastle on 37 points, and given the poor standard of the current bottom three this season, you have to feel that a points tally that high would be insurmountable.
Unfortunately for Newcastle, Leicester are no pushovers. The Foxes have been competing for the Champions League places over the past few years, and while this season has been slightly underwhelming, Leicester come into this one unbeaten in their last three.
With that in mind, we’ve had a go at predicting United’s starting XI for this one.
Perhaps unsurprisingly, we don’t expect there to be many changes to the starting XI after last week’s win against Wolves.
In fact, the only change we’re predicting is for Jacob Murphy to come in for Ryan Fraser after the Scot picked up an injury last weekend.
Murphy did a great job of deputising for Allan Saint-Maximin after his injury problems earlier this year, and we expect him to do a similarly solid job now that Fraser is facing an absence.
Other than that, this is pretty much the team we’ve grown used to seeing in recent weeks with Bruno Guimaraes, Jonjo Shelvey and Joelinton playing in the midfield ahead of January signings Matt Targett and Dan Burn in the backline.
