Speaking on his podcast, Phil Hay has provided some injury updates at Leeds United as the 2022/23 season approaches.
The fixture list is out and all of a sudden a new season is just around the corner, and Leeds United will be hoping to get off to a good start after narrowly avoiding relegation last term.
However, this will be a new-look Leeds team.
Indeed, with Kalvin Phillips and Raphinha seemingly on their way out and Brenden Aaronson and Rasmus Kristensen arriving, Leeds will look rather different this season.
Sadly, injuries are already playing their part, and according to Hay, Luke Ayling will miss the start of the season.
What’s been said?
Hay gave an injury rundown.
“Dallas is injured, he’s recovering from his fractured femur, and he won’t be available until the turn of the year. Ayling had surgery on a knee injury right before the end of the season, he could be looking at four months out, which means he won’t be ready for the start of the season if that’s the case,” Hay said.

Kristensen’s chance
The ‘great‘ full-back being injured is a blow for Leeds, but it also gives Kristensen a chance to immediately impress.
Indeed, that right-back spot is there for the taking, and with Dallas also out of action, Kristensen will be the one to step in.
This is the Dane’s chance to make a brilliant first impression at Leeds, but whether or not he takes this opportunity remains to be seen.
