Arsenal fans have reacted on Twitter to Mikel Arteta’s comments on the future of Dani Ceballos.
The 24-year-old is currently on loan – his second season – at Arsenal from Real Madrid.
Arteta told his pre-match press conference, ahead of their first leg Europa League tie with Villarreal, that at the end of the season they will discuss what’s ‘best for the club and the player’.
That is perhaps an indication that he might not be here next season, and if that’s the case, then the Arsenal faithful aren’t seemingly fussed.
Ceballos hasn’t had the desired impact in North London like Martin Odegaard has and has struggled to show real attacking intent this team has craved.
Arteta has had to wait for Emile Smith Rowe to come through, relied on Bukayo Saka, and then purchased Odegaard to get the team on the front foot.
And given that the Real Madrid loanee hasn’t been able to provide that then it begs the question as to whether Arsenal, who aren’t heavy spenders as it is, should splash the cash on his talents this summer?
The money-hungry individuals in Madrid’s boardroom, who just failed with a European Super League bid, seemingly need the cash to sort out their financial problems.
So, if anyone is going to come in for their players, no matter how they are fairing at their loan club, they are going to want a lot more than usual.
And that might just apply to Ceballos.
Nonetheless, here is a selection of Arsenal fans reacting to Arteta’s comments about Ceballos:
