It was a record-breaking day for Manchester City players yesterday as both Raheem Sterling and Ederson Moraes made it a century of goals and clean sheets against Wolves.

The England international slotted away his 100th Premier League goal from the penalty spot as Ederson kept his 100th clean sheet for the Manchester giants to claim the three points for City against Wolves.

It was a huge result for the reigning Premier League champions with Liverpool and Chelsea all snatching victories in the final moments of their respective games. And for Sterling and Ederson, it was a huge day in their City careers.

Indeed, the 100th goal had been coming for some time for Sterling. Yet for Ederson, it was a matter of ‘when’ he would get his 100th clean sheet for the club rather than ‘if’.

Pep Guardiola signed the keeper in 2017 for a reported fee of £35m according to BBC Sport. And the Brazilian international has made the position his own since landing in England four years ago.

Since signing, Ederson has developed into of the world’s best keepers and a benchmark for the next evolution stage of the position, with the 28-year-old at times better with his feet than with his hands.

Yet it was his shot-stopping that won him plaudits against Wolves as the former Benfica star made some impressive saves to keep City in the match and to help them claim the win.

The South American has been one of the best keepers in the Premier League since landing in England in 2017, and the shot-stopper was met with widespread praise on social media for his 100th clean sheet for the club.
