Aston Villa fans on Twitter are excited at the prospect of signing Hearts youngster, Aaron Hickey after rumours emerged about his future.
The Daily Record have claimed that Aston Villa are rivalling Bayern Munich and Bologna for Hickey’s signature.
It is said £1.5 million will be needed to prise away the 18-year-old from Hearts, who were relegated to the Championship during the recently cut-short 2019/20 Scottish Premiership campaign.
Hickey is a left-sided full-back, but given his qualities, he can also operate on the other side, which would be of great service to Dean Smith if he signs.
Villa fans acknowledge that there is some serious talent in Hickey, as they would seemingly be pleased to see him make a switch to Villa Park.
The last time a player made a switch from Edinburgh to the West Midlands was when Villa signed John McGinn from Hearts’ rivals, Hibernian.
McGinn’s impact on Villa is there for all to see and he is now a crowd favourite. There is no doubt that Hickey cannot do the same if he were to sign on the dotted line at B6.
