Alan Smith labelled Tottenham Hotspur’s Stadium and the atmosphere generated by the fans as ‘wonderful’, as he told Sky Sports Premier League.

The Arsenal legend was commentating on Tottenham’s 3-1 home win over West Ham United on Sunday when he made those comments.

Spurs recorded a much-needed three points against their London rivals to boost their chances of securing Champions League football at the end of the season.

Mikel Arteta’s side still hold the trump card because, not only are they sitting in fourth with a three-point lead, but they also have a game in hand on their neighbours.

Nonetheless, this is what former striker, Smith, had to say about Tottenham’s recently-built stadium yesterday.

“I don’t think he (David Moyes) will have any doubts about the attitude of his players out there,” said Smith.

“A full Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, it’s a wonderful sight and a wonderful noise too.”

Whilst Spurs divide opinion on the field of play, it can’t be argued that, led by Daniel Levy, he has done a serious job in being one of the brains behind this £1bn build.

Not just in the world of football, but sport in general, the Champions League-chasing side could claim to have one of the best stadiums in the world.

But, at the end of the day, it’s not going to represent success on the pitch or trophies because both worlds are apart.

Tottenham have a trophy-laden coach in the dugout, but if Antonio Conte isn’t backed then he will be out of the door – that’s the type of character he is.

If the same effort that was put into building the club’s stadium is put into backing Conte, then they will go places under the Italian.
