Clinton Morrison is unsure Joao Felix would join Aston Villa because they already have players of his ilk – Philippe Coutinho and Emi Buendia – but he does think Wolves would ‘suit’ him.
The Atletico Madrid forward is the subject of Premier League interest with recently-appointed bosses in the Midlands – Unai Emery and Julian Julen Lopetegui – looking for new faces to improve their style.
Given super agent Jorge Mendes’ strong links with Villa and Wolves, they have emerged as candidates to sign the 23-year-old, but so have current Premier League table toppers, Arsenal.

If Mikel Arteta’s side can put the money on the table, then there is no reason why Felix wouldn’t move to the north London club, especially given that he suits their style of play and a new forward is needed following Gabriel Jesus’ injury.
But when discussing the possibility of Felix moving to either Villa or Wolves, former Birmingham City striker Morrison shared why the latter option is the best, as he told Sky Sports News.
“He’s a good player,” said Morrison. “He’s only 23. That was a big move he made to Atletico Madrid. Has it worked out? Maybe not.
“He is thinking ‘can I come to the Premier League?’ Someone like a Wolves would suit him. I think he would create stuff. Good attacking play. He can score goals and provide assists.
“Someone like Aston Villa as well. But they have players like that. Buendia and Philippe Coutinho. Players like that.
“But if one of them would be moving on, then it’s a good signing, Joao Felix.”

FELIX CHAMPIONS LEAGUE WORTHY
Diego Simeone’s side may have been booted out of the group stages of the Champions League prior to the World Cup, but Felix is a player still capable of playing at that level.
If clubs of that elite can put a package down for the player, then there is no reason why he shouldn’t stay at that level, rather than dropping down.
But the issue that might prove to be a stumbling block is the £113 million Atletico paid for the player (BBC Sport), they would want a good chunk of that back, so would the likes of Villa and Wolves be more inclined to go overboard, in terms of the transfer fee, than those already in Europe? Perhaps so given that their chances of signing the Portugal International are already slim.
