Wolverhampton Wanderers should challenge Arsenal for the Algerian.

According to a report from La Gazette du Fennec, Arsenal are in advanced negotiations to sign free agent Yacine Brahimi, but Wolves should attempt to hijack the north London outfit’s interest in the Algerian.
The 29-year-old’s contract with Porto expired this summer, and his availability on a free transfer means that he could be a real coup for the Black Country outfit.
Brahimi was in fine form for the Portuguese outfit last season, racking up 13 goals and nine assists in 49 appearances in all competitions, and that kind of attacking output could prove to be a real asset for Wolves.
Nuno Espirito Santo is allegedly prepared to let Helder Costa and Ivan Cavaleiro leave Molineux this summer, according to the Express and Star, and if the Portuguese duo do leave, Wolves will need to sign another winger as a matter of urgency.
And the 48-capped Algeria international could be just the ticket for the Black Country outfit.
He possesses real quality on the ball, and has a bag of tricks that would instantly get the Molineux crowd on their feet.
At 29, it could be argued that Brahimi is nearing the end of his best years, but he still has a lot to offer at the very highest level, and he could be a real asset for Wolves.

And considering the fact that he’s available on a free transfer, there will be limited risk involved for Wolves.
They might find it hard to convince Brahimi into joining them over Arsenal, but Nuno is overseeing a very exciting project at Wolves, and it would be no surprise at all to see the Algerian jump at the chance of joining the Portuguese’s revolution at Molineux.
