Wolverhampton Wanderers are reportedly keen on signing the Burnley hitman.
A report from the Mirror this weekend suggested that Wolves are contemplating making a £20 million bid for Clarets hitman Andre Gray.
The 26-year-old is in high demand this summer, but in spite of the ludicrously inflated transfer market, the Black Country outfit should steer clear of a move for the Burnley striker.
Gray is a proven performer at Championship level, that cannot be argued, but for a side that are by no means guaranteed earning promotion to the Premier League, spending £20 million on one player is a huge risk, that could have adverse consequences further down the line.

Last season, the Black Country outfit were desperately bereft of quality all over the pitch, and despite the fact that Nuno Espirito Santo has already brought in six new players to Molineux, there is still room for further improvement.
And the £20 million that is reportedly being set aside for the purchase of Gray could be used to far greater effect by bringing in two or three squad players.
There also has to be questions asked regarding Gray’s professionalism, following a series of high-profile misdemeanours.
Wolves would be better off targeting a young striker with something to prove. Ashley Fletcher, who recently joined Middlesbrough for £6.5 million, would have been the ideal candidate.
Progress is always better made when it’s steady, and the Black Country outfit should seriously consider avoiding going all in on one striker, when they have so many issues to address all over the pitch.
