The Molineux club’s U18s were unbeaten in August as Wolves showed off Jed Abbey’s effort on their Twitter channels.

Wolverhampton Wanderers have shared a video on their Twitter feed of a superb free kick scored by Wolves Under-18s ace Jed Abbey in their game against their Manchester United counterparts, originally posted by the Wolves Academy channel.
The Molineux side, whose U18s compete in the Premier League Under-18 North, went unbeaten in August as they began the season with a 3-0 win at Stoke City before the solid 2-0 triumph against the Red Devils at Compton.
After that came a 1-1 draw with Liverpool’s U18s, then a 2-0 win at Sunderland’s U18s before the international break led to a pause in league proceedings with Wolves sitting third in the table, with Middlesbrough U18s up next on 14 September (Soccerway).
Abbey, the Wolves U18s right-back, opened the scoring against the Red Devils in the eighth minute with this audacious strike:

Wolves came close to conceding after penalty was awarded late on following a foul on Reece Devine, with Charlie McCann stepping up, but Joe Young dived correctly to push the ball away and the hosts subsequently wrapped up the points against after substitute Lee Harkin claimed a second goal late on (Man Utd match report).
