The Wolverhampton Wanderers ace scored a superb long-range goal in the Premier League clash with Man United at Molineux.

A number of Wolverhampton Wanderers fans have taken to Twitter to comment on Ruben Neves being nominated for August’s Premier League Goal of the Month award.
The £16.1million signing from Porto (Transfermarkt) helped Wolves pick up a point in their first Molineux game of the league season, against Manchester United on 19 August, with a sensational strike from range in the 55th minute.
A corner was played short and eventually worked to just outside the box as Neves controlled the ball then curled a superb effort through the Red Devils defence and into the top-right corner of the net.
The goal didn’t come without some uncertainty as referee Jon Moss put his finger to his ear to await confirmation of a VAR check, but after a few tense moments for the home crowd, the goal was rightfully given.
Anthony Martial had given Man United the lead midway through the first half with a finish off his weaker foot but Neves’ effort in the second half – plus Paul Pogba’s penalty miss – helped Nuno Espirito Santo’s charges earn a 1-1 draw.
On Twitter, Wolves congratulated Neves on his nomination and urged the Old Gold faithful to get voting – Wanderers fans and neutrals alike gave their thoughts:
As per the official Premier League website, Neves’ goal is up against seven other goal nominations, including Sergio Aguero, Jamie Vardy and Teemu Pukki, and voting is open until before 6pm BST on Monday 9 September.
