Wolverhampton Wanderers are set to bid for West Ham United central defender Craig Dawson in the January transfer window, according to The Telegraph, with Wolves having been keen on him in the summer of 2022 as well.

Wolves to bid for West Ham’s Craig Dawson

The report published this afternoon has claimed that Wolves are posed to make a bid for West Ham defender Dawson.

Wolves were in talks with the Hammers over a deal for the £52,000-a-week (SalarySport) defender last summer, but West Ham could not secure a replacement as Jan Bednarek went to Aston Villa.

The Telegraph have reported that Wolves ‘are poised to bid for him, with a deal dependent on West Ham having enough cover for a player who has started the last six Premier League games’.

Could a January transfer happen?

In our view, Wolves could be able to sign Craig Dawson from Premier League rivals West Ham in the January transfer window.

Dawson is not guaranteed a place in the Hammers’ starting lineup, and he himself could be tempted to move to the Wanderers in the middle of the season.

After all, Wolves clearly want him.

The 32-year-old has made eight appearances in the Premier League, one in the FA Cup, and two starts and two substitute appearances in the UEFA Europa League Conference for David Moyes’s side so far this season.
