Wolves are yet to make any first-team signings but the Molineux sporting director insists quality is key and no rushed decisions will be made.

Wolverhampton Wanderers sporting director Kevin Thelwell has spoken of the club’s plans for this summer’s transfer window, suggesting that the bulk of the team will remain as it was last term and that wholesale changes are not on the agenda (official website).
The Molineux club enjoyed a superb campaign in 2018-19, finishing seventh in the Premier League table after having gone up the previous summer, as well as making it to the semi-finals of the FA Cup, which bodes well as 2019-20 edges ever closer.
As well as the league, the League Cup and the FA Cup, Wanderers will be taking part in European competition for the first time since 1980, with either Crusaders of Northern Ireland or B36 Torshavn of the Faroe Islands awaiting in the second qualifying round of the Europa League (official Wolves website).
With Wolves set to fight on four fronts, there has been some anticipation amongst fans to see new arrivals to bolster the ranks, but as of yet the club has not brought in any senior players, though former Paris Saint-Germain captain Raphael Nya did join the Wolves academy earlier this week.

Nonetheless, the club insists that the focus has been placed on quality rather than quantity, with Thelwell stressing that any new arrivals must be the perfect match for the team and rushed decisions will not be made.
“As always, we’re working away. We’ve been doing preparation work for a long period now,” he told the Wolves website. “Of course, sometimes you’re governed by what the market looks like. That sometimes goes a bit slower than everybody would want.
“We need to be judged when the transfer window closes because it is all about securing the right player that’s going to be able to help us going forward for a long period. We’d all want it to be done much earlier, but it never works out that way. We’re working very hard and we’re confident we’ll secure the right players to help us this season.”
