Teenage goalkeeper Andreas Sondergaard will be hoping to make a Premier League debut when ‘Project Re-start’ gets underway with the Wolverhampton Wanderers starlet pictured in full-contact training today by the club’s official website.

Nuno Espirito Santo has handed out senior bows like they are going out of fashion this season.

In recent months, Chem Campbell, Benny Ashley-Seal, Owen Otasowie, Oskar Buur, Tyler Perry and co have featured in Wolves colours for the very first time.

And while Sondergaard is at an obvious disadvantage – there is only place in the team for one goalkeeper after all – the talented Scandinavian will be hoping to catch Nuno’s eye before the 2019/20 campaign comes to an end.

A 2018 signing from Odense, the Dane is one of the most exciting talents amongst a crop of budding youngsters at Molineux – even if he has kept just one clean sheet in 15 Premier League 2 games this season.

“We think he’s got a lot of potential which we saw his potential playing for the national team with Denmark, and he suits how we want to play,” Scott Sellars, Wolves’ head of academy, said last year.

“He’s very good with his feet and technically he’s as good as anyone I’ve seen for a long time in terms of his distribution.”

If Wolves manage to secure their place in the top six over the next few matchdays, Nuno may be tempted to hand Sondergaard a chance to prove himself in a late-season dead rubber.
