HITC Sport understands Wolves striker set for loan move.
Swansea’s Andre Ayew in action with Wolverhampton Wanderers’ Niall Ennis
Wolverhampton Wanderers striker Niall Ennis has agreed a loan move to Shrewsbury Town, HITC Sport understands from sources close to the club.
Ennis is highly-rated at Wolves and has been on the fringes of the first-team for the past year.
Ennis attracted interest from a number of Premier League clubs before signing a pro deal at Wolves in 2015.
With his first-team chances set to be limited this season the club feel a loan move away from Molineux in search of valuable first-team experience will benefit Ennis.
New Wolves boss Nuno Espirito Santo
The 18-year-old was close to a first-team debut last season only for a serious ankle injury suffered last November hold up his progress.
The England Under-18 international is now back to full fitness and is keen to be playing regular first-team in the upcoming season.
A number of Football League clubs are understood to have made enquiries for Ennis, but League One Shrewsbury Town have moved quickly to secure a deal with Wolves for the teenager.
Shrewsbury boss Paul Hurst has been looking to add to his striking options and he sees Ennis as playing a key role in his plans for the new League One season.
