Wolves star Ruben Neves spoke to The Guardian about the speculation surrounding the future of the club’s best players.
Nuno Espirito Santo’s side have been a revelation in the Premier League since gaining promotion from the Championship two years ago.
Wolves qualified for the Europa League last season and if things go their way in the final few games of the season, they will have a good chance of making it into the Champions League next term.
Neves, along with Raul Jimenez and Adama Traore, have been Wolves’ standout players since the start of last season.
Their performances, naturally, have attracted a ton of top clubs but Neves says that none of them are interested those transfer rumours.
He said: “There has always been speculation since I’ve got here about our team. But we don’t think about it. We want to be together for as much time as we can but it’s football, the speculation will always be there. Our job is to play and leave this for the people who need to take care of it.”
Traore has been incredible since the start of the season. The Spaniard has been linked with a move to Liverpool, Manchester City, Manchester United and even Real Madrid. (Goal)
Jimenez, on the other hand, has arguably been Wolves’ best player since the start of last season. His performances have attracted the likes of Arsenal and Tottenham ahead of this summer window (ESPN) but it is unlikely that either of them move this summer.
Wolves will surely demand a mammoth amount for their star players and the current financial climate prohibits teams from splashing big money in the upcoming transfer window.
However, they are sure to eventually leave Wolves for a bigger club and not many can argue that they don’t deserve it.
