Everton are reportedly interested in Bournemouth striker Callum Wilson and Wolves should rival them for his signature.
It has been a near dream start to life back in the Premier League for Wolves, who currently sit in the top seven following their win at Tottenham on Saturday.
Say it slowly, but there is a possibility that Nuno Espirito Santo’s side can clinch European football this season, however, that all depends on how they perform during the second half of the campaign.
The Daily Mail claim that Everton, who are two points behind Wolves in the table, are interested in signing Bournemouth striker Callum Wilson in January.
The 26-year-old has netted eight goals for Eddie Howe’s side this term and he would add valuable firepower to most teams in England’s top-tier if they were to secure his services next month.
Wolves should be one of those sides rivalling Everton for Wilson’s signature because the Premier League hotshot would add that much-needed freshness in the forward line and provide that extra push towards the latter part of the campaign.
Raul Jimenez has been Wolves’ main man up front this season, scoring six goals and supplying five assists during his 20 league matches.
There is no doubt that Wilson could challenge the Mexican for a first-team spot, but most importantly, the recently capped England player would improve Nuno’s attack-minded team.
Even if Wolves don’t secure European football this season, their return to the top-flight will be seen as a massive success because of the manner in which they have played.
But as they build the pathway towards European football in the medium to long-term, an acquisition like Wilson would provide them with the tools they need to build that road.
