According to a report from The Sun, Arsenal are plotting a £12 million swoop for Hull City’s 22-year-old attacker Jarrod Bowen in the coming weeks.

The report states that the Englishman is being considered as a cheaper alternative for Wilfried Zaha who is set to cost Arsenal a fortune if they were to sign him from Crystal Palace this summer. The Tigers value Bowen at £15 million but according to the report, they would be willing to do business at £12 million if the Gunners come knocking.

Bowen had an incredible campaign for Hull in the Championship last term where he played every single game and scored a stunning 22 goals. The Englishman’s pace and dribbling ability has made him a huge success so far and he would be a fine fit in the Premier League next season.

However, the chances of Bowen getting a guaranteed starting spot at Arsenal seems unlikely despite their lack of out and out wide players. Alex Iwobi and Henrikh Mkhitaryan will surely remain above him in the pecking order while his lack of experience in the top flight could also play a part in his transition.

Fellow Premier League side Wolverhampton Wanderers should take advantage of this opportunity and hijack Arsenal’s move for the 22-year-old this summer. Nuno Espirito Santo’s side are a bit short in terms of numbers and with the daunting prospect of the Europa League in sight, they will need all the help that they can get.

Adama Traore’s inconsistency has been a huge hindrance for the Wanderers on the right flank. The Spaniard’s end product since making the switch to the Molineux has been horrendous and Wolves will need to bring in an upgrade in that position to further progress as a club next season.

Bowen would be a brilliant addition to Wolves’ side and his versatility of playing on either wing as well as in the number 10 role would give Nuno a ton of options in both the domestic competitions as well as in the Europa League next season.
