Nuno Espirito Santo has galvanised the club with his ambitiously assembled squad.
Wolves have won 19 of their 26 games so far this season, losing only three and have scored 50 goals along the way.
The club’s ambitious owners will undoubtedly be looking to strengthen come the summer if, as is expected, Wolves hold on to seal promotion.
But they could steal a march on their fellow promoted sides and next season’s Premier League rivals by doing some clever business during the January window.
Knowing they are in the Premier League next season barring a miraculous fall from grace is a huge advantage and they could pick off some cast-offs from the likes of West Ham and Everton.
Reece Oxford
Reece Oxford is one of England’s hottest prospects and was wanted by some of Europe’s top clubs before signing a long term deal with West Ham. But for whatever reason his face does not fit at the club, much to the frustration of Hammers fans who love to see Academy products graduate to the first team. Oxford has been linked with a move to the Bundesliga, where he spent the first half of the season on loan, for around £15 million. Cash rich Wolves would not find that kind of fee difficult and would bolster their ranks with a potential future England star.
Jose Fonte
Nuno could use his Portuguese influence to lure compatriot Jose Fonte to add some much needed Premier League experience and leadership to his ranks for Wolves’ Premier League return. A Euro 2016 winner with Portugal, Fonte turns 34 this season but is a real athlete and with the way Wolves set up he would be well protected. He has spent the last two months out injured but is close to a comeback and West Ham are believed to be keen to offload him. Fonte would help secure promotion this season and thicken the squad as back-up for next term.
Sandro Ramirez
The highly-rated Spaniard looked a steal for Everton when he was signed for £5.2million from Malaga in the summer. But he has failed to convince so far in a difficult start to his Everton career and has been linked with a return to Spain. Wolves could give him the chance to prove himself in English football, though, and the deal would not have to break the bank with Sam Allardyce admitting the Blues will be selling players to reshape their squad.
Morgan Schneiderlin
Things haven’t gone to plan for the Frenchman since his big move to Manchester United from Southampton. He flopped at Old Trafford and has not set the world alight at Goodison Park either. In and out of the side Schneiderlin would welcome a move to a club where he can establish himself as a regular and has vast experience of the Championship and the Premier League as a promoted club. Everton would welcome clearing another player out of their poorly assembled squad and it would be another deal which could be struck for no more than £15 million.
