Arsenal are set to allow midfielder Aaron Ramsey to leave the club on a free transfer at the end of the season – and a host of Premier League clubs are thought to be keen.

The Welshman is out of contract in 2019, and with talks over a new deal broken down, the Gunners are set to let him go for nothing at the end of the season.

The Sun recently claimed that Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester United are keen on Ramsey, as well as Everton, with the midfielder expected to be in demand.

One club yet to be linked with Ramsey is Wolverhampton Wanderers, but Nuno Espirito Santo’s men should be entering themselves into the race for his signature.

Wolves are one of the most ambitious clubs outside the top six, and would be able to offer Ramsey a starring role in their push towards European football.

Backed by Fosun International, Wolves have money to spend on new signings, and with no transfer fee attached to Ramsey, they may just be able to offer a major wage package to lure him to Molineux.

Adding Ramsey – a goalscoring midfielder adept at breaking in the box – to existing midfielders Ruben Neves, Joao Moutinho and Morgan Gibbs-White could be a smart move, bolstering Nuno’s options whilst making a huge statement signing.

Taking on Chelsea, Liverpool and United for a signing appears daunting, but nobody could have expected Wolves to beat some of those clubs to Neves in 2017, and the simple fact is that, with Fosun and their links to Jorge Mendes, any signing is possible at Wolves.

In fact, some fans have even started to dream of Ramsey making the move to Molineux on a free transfer, and Wolves really do have the capabilities to go and make an ambitious bid for the midfielder in 2019, and prove that they really are attempting to take on the Premier League’s elite.
