Celtic should be rivalling Wolves for Jamie Hamilton.

Celtic have been able to hoover up some top Scottish talents in recent years, and they should certainly look to keep that run going.

Scott Bain, Ryan Christie and Lewis Morgan have all arrived at Parkhead in recent times, though Jack Hendry’s move from Dundee hasn’t paid dividends.

Hendry may well be on the move this summer, but that shouldn’t stop Celtic from making a summer move for another young Scottish defender.

Hamilton Academical talent Jamie Hamilton has been making waves with Scotland’s Under-17’s, and whilst he hasn’t yet made a first-team debut for Hamilton, he’s attracting interest.

The Daily Mail report that Burnley and Wolverhampton Wanderers are both keen on signing Hamilton, who would cost a considerable fee of £800,000 despite his inexperience.

With Premier League clubs keen, Celtic should be making their move to sign Hamilton this summer, and keep him in Scotland rather than see him walk away to the Premier League.

Celtic will lose Dedryck Boyata and Jozo Simunovic this summer, and whilst immediate options are needed, they would also be wise to invest in the future by bringing in Hamilton, bringing him through for the coming years.

At £800,000, Hamilton wouldn’t break the bank for Celtic, and having earned rave reviews off the back of his youth displays, the Bhoys should be thinking about rivalling Wolves for his signature.
