According to a report from the Express & Star, Wolves are on the verge of signing Joao Moutinho from Monaco, for a fee believed to be worth in the region of £5 million, and if Nuno Espirito Santo does manage to bring the Portuguese to Molineux, the Black Country outfit could very well have the best central midfield partnership in the Premier League.

Moutinho, 31, joined the Ligue 1 outfit from Porto in the summer of 2013, for a fee believed to be worth in the region of £21.5 million, and he has since gone on to rack up 202 appearances in all competitions.

The 113-capped Portugal international is a really classy operator, and the prospect of him lining up alongside Ruben Neves will surely be a tantalising one for Wolves fans.

Moutinho is extensively experienced in playing at the very highest level. He is cool and composed when in possession of the football and possesses an excellent array of passing.
