Wolves got their Premier League season off to a flying start with a 2-0 win against Sheffield United on Monday night.
Nuno Espirito Santo’s side made a mockery of their tight pre-season turnaround by blowing the Blades away within six minutes.
The Portuguese boss has a small squad at his disposal, which may mean he rings the changes for the midweek match against Stoke City in the EFL Cup.
Santo used John Ruddy in the competition last season, and we expect the former Norwich man will start here.
Max Kilman also played both of Wolves’ EFL Cup encounters last season, and should get the nod here, where Ruben Vinagre will hope to start after missing out to new-boy Marcal at Bramall Lane.
Oskar Buur also featured as a late substitute on Monday, and should start at right wing back here.
Willy Boly could add experience to the backline, and we’ve got Dion Sanderson rounding off the back five. He played against Aston Villa in the competition last year and could get the nod again here.
Santo played a 3-4-3 against the Blades, but could go for 3-5-2 here, to bring Ruben Neves in after he was a substitute on Monday.
New-boy Vitinha could get a first start, with Taylor Perry, another who played in that 2-1 loss against Villa given another chance to shine.
Up front, record signing Fabio Silva will hope to start, alongside £12 million (Birmingham Mail) man Jota, who was also on the bench earlier this week.
