Wolverhampton Wanderers are expected to line up with a 4-2-3-1 system for their Championship clash against Sheffield Wednesday.
Currently just two points from the relegation zone, Wolverhampton Wanderers will be in conscious need of the three points when they welcome Sheffield Wednesday to Molineux this weekend.
The Midlanders have only secured three points since the start of October – the second worst haul in the Championship.
Paul Lambert will take charge of Wolves in front of the Molineux faithful for the first time when his team host a Wednesday side who sit in ninth position in the Championship table.
In Lambert’s first game as Wolves manager, a 0-0 draw away at Preston last week, captain Danny Batth picked up his fifth booking of the season – ruling him out of this encounter against Carlos Carvalhal’s Owls.
In an attempt to build upon last week’s clean sheet, and to try and secure their first win in nine games, Wolves look set to draft Richard Stearman into the defence in place of Batth and may even recall goalkeeper Carl Ikeme.
Right back Dominic Iorfa is expected to start, with Matt Doherty predicted to see off the challenge of Cameron Borthwick-Jackson and be selected at left back. The returning Stearman should be partnered with Kortney Hause at the heart of Wolves’ back four.
It is anticipated that shielding the defence will be midfielders Jack Price and Conor Coady – the latter should hold off the alternative option of Romain Siass to be selected ahead of the Moroccan international in central midfield.
Welshman David Edwards is expected to line up slightly advanced of Coady and Price within the midfield trio – with the width and much needed creativity being provided by Ivan Cavaleiro and standout Helder Costa.
Front man Jon Dadi Bodvarsson is likely to retain his starting spot, despite only scoring twice in 15 appearances for the the Wanderers.
