Wolverhampton Wanderers defender Conor Coady has told Monday Night Football, which was broadcast on Sky Sports, that Leeds United’s two full-backs don’t even play in their positions.

Stuart Dallas and Luke Ayling are both encouraged to get forward from right and left-back as often as possible.

And Wolves centre-back Coady admits that it is a massive challenge to play against Leeds because of the fluidity of their system.

“We have worked on this game for a few day now and we knew how tough this was going to be,” Coady said.

“We saw what they did last year, they were fantastic, and we saw what they did against Manchester City.

“We’ve never played against Leeds before under their manager.

“It’s hard to get after them. You’ve got to figure out what they’re doing. They had two full-backs who are really wingers, so you have to look at that.

“Second half we knew we’d get a bit more control, because they worked so hard in the first half and they tired a little bit.”

Dallas and Ayling both have improved hugely under Marcelo Bielsa’s guidance so far.

The pair were once considered to be solid Championship players, but there were doubts about their ability to play at a higher level.

However, they are proving with Leeds this season just how dangerous a threat they can be, even at the top level.

Unfortunately for Leeds last night it wasn’t enough for them, as they sunk to a 1-0 defeat against Wolves at Elland Road, courtesy of a deflected Raul Jimenez strike.
