Therefore, Wednesday night’s Premier League fixture against Chelsea could not really have come at a worse time for the West Midlanders.
The Blues have won seven of their last nine games in league and cup, and have beaten Wolves by an aggregate score of 13-1 in their last four meetings in all competitions.
However, Chelsea head coach Maurizio Sarri insists he is taking the game very seriously and has paid the Molineux outfit a huge compliment ahead of kickoff.
“I expect a very difficult match because they are a very technical team,” the Italian told football.london.
“They have a lot of players who are very technical. So they were unlucky in the last few matches, I think, but it’s not really very easy to play there.”
Wolves, who currently sit 13th in the table, will be without midfielder Ruben Neves, who is banned for one game after picking up five yellow cards.
All in all it looks to be a tough task for Wolves on paper but with the Molineux faithful behind them, do not discount Nuno’s side springing a surprise.
