Wolverhampton Wanderers duo Connor Ronan and Bright Enobakhare have impressed away from Molineux this year.

Wolverhampton Wanderers loans manager Seyi Olofinjana has singled out two players who have come a long way in recent months while temporarily away from Molineux.

Academy graduate Connor Ronan has enjoyed a fruitful loan with Dunajska Streda in the top tier of Slovakian football after making the switch from Wolves in January, making 14 appearances (Transfermarkt).

The Republic of Ireland Under-21 midfielder helped Dunajska secure a spot in the Europa League by finishing second in the championship round standings behind Slovan Bratislava (Soccerway).

Likewise, Bright Enobakhare went on loan to Coventry City at the start of the year and he too has been impressive, scoring six goals and claiming three assists in 18 appearances for the Sky Blues (Transfermarkt).

Olofinjana praised the duo for different reasons – Ronan for being a great example of a player who is thriving in an overseas league, and Enobakhare for how he took on board the experience of his first loan – at Kilmarnock – to kick on in his second loan spell.

“We’re looking at Slovakia, Poland and Belgium to give these boys an experience and to learn what it’s like to live outside of England,” Olofinjana told the Wolves website. “They can go and learn the culture, as well as going to play football, because the style of play at these clubs suits a lot of the players we are recruiting. Connor Ronan is a great example. He’s now in Slovakia and playing 90 minutes every week, winning man of the match awards and it’s working well for him.

“An example of a player who used his first loan as a chance to go into a new environment and cope with all the new things that they have to take on board was Bright Enobakhare. He is now playing great at Coventry but initially went to Kilmarnock at the start of the season and didn’t play, but he learnt a lot. Bright came back in January, we sent him to Coventry and it’s been unbelievable since then – he’s played 18 games, scored six goals, and is now the best player in the team in my opinion.”

Although the Wolves first team is full of top-class talent and the summer could bring yet more signings, it seems as though Nuno Espirito Santo may have some food for thought in the off season regarding the two highly rated 21-year-olds – could they get a look-in during pre-season friendlies with a view to a role in the league and cups?
