Nelson Semedo has congratulated Jean-Clair Todibo on his move to Benfica despite suggestions the former Barcelona teammates could have been reunited at Wolverhampton Wanderers, according to Marca.
December 2018 was the first time Molineux was mentioned as a potential destination for one of the many highly rated centre-halves to emerge from French football in recent years.
Wolves were pipped to the post by Barcelona back then (Depeche).
But when it became clear the former Toulouse starlet was available again after failing to force his way into the Catalans’ first team, it wasn’t long before Nuno Espirito Santo’s side emerged as potential suitors once more.
Mundo Deportivo reported in September that Wolves were interested in the £23 million-rated stopper, having already raided the La Liga giants for rampaging right-back Semedo.

Todibo put pen to paper with Benfica instead – although Semedo only had positive words to say about a club he won two Primeira Liga titles with between 2015 and 2017.
“(Semedo) told me I had joined the best club in the world,” Todibo said at his unveiling.
“I know Benfica have won two Champions League trophies and 37 league titles. They are the best team in the league.”
A Wolves defence now containing the £30 million Semedo has looked unusually vulnerable in recent weeks, conceding seven times against Manchester City and West Ham United.
And if Fulham had brought their shooting boots to Molineux, a 1-0 triumph over the Premier League’s bottom club could have ended differently.
