According to The Daily Mail, Premier League duo Wolves and Leicester want the forward, while The Telegraph has claimed of interest in the 29-year-old from Championship club Villa.

The Sun has credited Stoke City with interest in the former Burnley star, and the British tabloid has also claimed that Southampton have told the forward that he can leave this month.

It has also been reported by The Sun that Austin prefers to stay in the Premier League, and this means that Wolves do have an advantage over Villa.

The Wanderers are a very ambitious club and are aiming to finish in the top half of the Premier League table this season.

As for Villa, the Villans may not even end up in the top six of the Championship this campaign, and having already been a success in the Premier League, Austin may think that moving to the second tier of English football is a step down for him.
