The Leicester City striker was sent off against Wolverhampton Wanderers on Saturday.

Wolves ace Matt Doherty spoke exclusively to the Express & Star, in the aftermath of his side’s 2-0 defeat at Leicester City on Saturday, and shared how Jamie Vardy came to apologise to him after the game, following his horror tackle that saw him see red in the second half.
The Wolves ace was lucky not to break his leg following Vardy’s challenge, and he has now recovered after being substituted off against the Foxes.
Doherty spoke exclusively to the Express & Star, and shared how a line has been drawn under the situation, following Vardy’s apology to him immediately after the game at the King Power Stadium:
“It’s fine, I’ve just got stud marks down the inside of my leg. But my leg wasn’t planted, which is beneficial. It could have been worse if my leg was planted. I could see it coming so I rode with it. Jamie knocked in (on the dressing room) and asked if everything was all right. There’s no hard feelings. He’s apologised so that’s the end of that.”

The 26-year-old began his career as a trainee at Molineux way back in 2010, and he has established himself as a real fan favourite amongst the Wolves fans during his time with the club.
Doherty is a vital part of Nuno’s side, and the way in which the Portuguese wants them to play.
His prompt return to action will be greeted with much relief at Molineux, considering just how important he is to the Wolves team.
