Speaking on The Done Deal Show, Dean Jones has shared an update on Tottenham and their pursuit of Adama Traore from Wolves.
Spurs have been strongly linked with Traore this month, and it’s looked as though they’ve been edging closer and closer to agreeing a deal.
Jones is led to believe that Traore will end up moving to Spurs, but he says that there is one final hurdle to clear.
Indeed, the journalist claims that Wolves have told Tottenham that they have to wait until the Midlands club have signed a replacement for Traore before they will sanction this sale.
What’s been said about Traore?
Jones shared what he knows about Traore and Wolves’ stance.
“With Tottenham. Spurs have had to wait because Wolves made it clear that they wanted to get a replacement in before they would allow Traore to go anywhere, so Spurs have had to be patient on that. It looks like things will move forward this week with Traore, I do expect him to join Tottenham, they just need to agree on the fee. He’s a player they’ve been looking at for a long time, and finally it looks like Tottenham are finally getting the opportunity to negotiate on this fee and it will probably be at half the price they’d have paid in the summer,” Jones said.

Could advance quickly
Wolves told Tottenham that they’ll need to wait for a replacement to be signed before Traore can leave, and luckily for Tottenham, that’s already happened.
Indeed, Chiquinho has now joined the Midlands club, and his arrival should allow Spurs to make their move for Traore this week.
As Jones says, this deal looks to be likely, and we wouldn’t be surprised at all if this advances at a rapid pace in the coming days.
