Andreas Weimann has confirmed that he has, so far, not spoken to anyone from Wolves or Derby about his future as his loan spell edges toward coming to an end, the Express and Star reports.

Weimann moved to Molineux on loan during the January transfer window having struggled for opportunities at Pride Park this term, and has arguably done fairly well for Paul Lambert’s men, contributing two goals and two assists from 14 Championship games.

With all of the goals and assists coming in his last six appearances, it could certainly be argued that his recent form has left some Wolves fans hoping that another deal can be agreed with the Rams.

But Weimann has suggested that he is in the dark regarding his future at the moment, but perhaps dropped the slightest hint by outlining how much he has enjoyed his spell with Wolves.

“I don’t know, to be honest,” he said, as reported by the Express and Star, when asked about his future. “I’ve not spoken to anyone at Wolverhampton yet and I’ve not spoke to anyone at Derby.

“I don’t know when that’s going to happen – it’s got to be soon!”

He went on to add: “I’ve always said I’ve really enjoyed it since I’ve been here, I’ve been playing my football and that’s what every player wants.”

While the silence from both clubs perhaps suggests that he is more likely to be back with his parent club next season, Lambert would be forgiven for putting talks regarding the forward’s future on the back-burner for the time-being.

Wolves – who have a deal in place which allows them to automatically sign the Austrian for £1.5 million (via Express and Star) – are virtually safe from relegation, but it appeared for a long time that their situation would be a lot more precarious, and thus, Lambert would not have been able to put any plans in place for next season with it still to be decided which division they would be playing in.

But with mathematical safety now within touching distance, Weimann may perhaps soon have some answers regarding his future.
