Wolves legend Steve Bull named the club who he would love to see go up automatically with his former side this season, when writing a column for the Express & Star, and his choice will come as a surprise to say the least.
The Black Country outfit have been a totally dominant force in the Championship this season, and currently sit at the top of the pile, 11 points clear of second placed Cardiff City.
Nuno Espirito Santo’s side are a distant 13 points clear of third-placed Aston Villa, and Bull explained why he would love to see Steve Bruce’s men join his former side in gaining promotion to the Premier League this season, when writing his column for the Express & Star:
“In all seriousness, if Wolves do go up I’d love Villa to come up with us – it would be great for the Midlands to have as many teams in the Premier League as possible and you always want to be playing your local rivals because they’re the games you enjoy the most.”
The Villans have been on a mightily impressive run of late – one that was ended with their defeat to Fulham yesterday, but many people will still fancy the west Midlands side to force their way inside the top two come what May.
Wolves, meanwhile, are bulldozing their way to the Championship title, and it seems as though it will just be a matter of time before they can call themselves a top flight side.
