Wolverhampton Wanderers may not top the table, but they certainly lead the way for programme designs in the Championship.

There have been a few things here and there to shout about for Wolverhampton Wanderers so far this season. There’s been successful away days, big transfers and an incoming manager in Paul Lambert that has brought hope back to the fans. After many years of taking one step forward and two steps back, it appears as if the Midlands club are finally on the straight and narrow.

This season, however, one of the major accomplishments at the club has been the phenomenal programmes that have been produced for their home games. Whilst it may not seem like an overly important issue, the extra revenue it’ll bring in for the club as a result of fans wanting to collect them all is never going to be considered a bad thing. Plus, it’s a feel good item to take away from every game.

The designs are created by a man called Alexander Wells who is a freelance illustrator living in the UK. Every time Wolves play at Molineux, he creates a different image involving a wolf battling it out with whatever animal or object represents the club they’re facing.

This has created some brilliant visuals, with this week’s edition pitting the wolf against Aston Villa’s lion perfectly representing the brewing rivalry between the two clubs. With clubs like bitter rivals West Brom also switching things up by having theirs in the form of old school albums, it appears as if Midlands clubs are taking it upon themselves to be some of the most creative in the country.
