HITC Sport understands that they might wait until the summer to land Blackburn man

Wolverhampton Wanderers have lined up a move for Blackburn Rovers winger Ben Marshall, as they battle to keep hold of Portuguese sensation Helder Costa – who is wanted by half a dozen Premier League clubs, HITC Sport understands.

Wolves have sent Ola John to Deportivo La Coruna, which has freed up space for Marshall to come in, but Blackburn are trying to keep hold of him until the end of the season.

The former Leicester wide man is out of contract in the summer but has told Rovers he will not sign a new deal, so they have to decide whether to cash in now or not. Either way Wolves are set to seal terms and then he will arrive either this month or in the summer.

Wolves’ main worry has also been over 23-year-old Costa, who has been in sensational form for the club since joining from Benfica in the summer. He is represented by Jorge Mendes, who has been ready to ask Benfica to recall him and send him to the Premier League.

HITC Sport understands that Southampton, Middlesbrough, Crystal Palace, Everton, West Ham United and Hull City have all told Mendes they would happily take Costa, if he was to be made available this month.
