Wolves want Julen Lopetegui and they appear to be moving closer to striking a deal for the Spaniard to become their new boss.
Today brings up a whole month since Wolves decided to sack manager Bruno Lage.
Wolves pulled the trigger after a 2-0 defeat to West Ham United but their attempts to replace Lage didn’t go to plan.
Top target Julen Lopetegui turned down the job to focus on family matters with his father suffering from an illness.
Queens Park Rangers boss Michael Beale then rejected the job too, preferring to stay with the Championship club.

Wolves want Julen Lopetegui
Wolves placed caretaker Steve Davis in charge until 2023 but that situation could now change.
Reports in recent days have suggested that Wolves have gone back in for Lopetegui.
The Telegraph now report that Wolves are moving closer to appointing Lopetegui as their new manager.
It’s stated that Wolves hope to have a deal completed for Lopetegui later this week and are increasingly confident of finally striking a deal.
The report even claims that Lopetegui was the one who instigated talks by contacting Wolves and suggesting that he was ready to return tom management.
Loptegui, 56, has been appreciated by Wolves for years now and left Sevilla in October.
The Spaniard won a Europa League title with Sevilla and will now be charged with the task of dragging Wolves away from the relegation zone.
This seems like a move Ruben Neves will love; he worked with Lopetegui at Porto and has branded him a ‘special coach’ according to the Daily Mail.
Wolves held talks with former Ajax boss Peter Bosz as well as Chelsea coach Anthony Barry but seemingly weren’t impressed enough with either of them.
That has opened the door for Lopetegui to come back in as top choice and it looks like Wolves are finally going to land their man barring a late U-turn.
