Wolves are in talks with Carlos ‘Charly’ Alcaraz’s agent regarding a potential £13 million move to the Premier League for the Racing Club youngster, according to FC Inter News.
He’s a busy man, Sebastian Lopez.
Just this week, Alcaraz’s representative conducted an interview with Italian newspaper Tuttosport, confirming that both Inter and AC Milan were keen to sign his 19-year-old client over the summer, before admitting that Premier League clubs were now throwing their respective hats into the ring.
One of those appears to be Wolverhampton Wanderers.

According to FC Inter News, Wolves have ‘already contacted the player’s entourage’. Interestingly, Alcaraz’s camp were in England for talks with as-yet unknown clubs a couple of weeks ago. Whether they opened up a dialogue with the men from Molineux then, we can only hypothesise.
That Alcaraz looks certain to be on his way across the Atlantic, potentially as soon as January, feels a lot more clear cut however.
Wolves could beat Arsenal and Tottenham to Carlos Alcaraz of Racing Club
According to Marca, Arsenal and Tottenham are also keeping tabs on Alcaraz; a quicksilver 19-year-old with the acceleration of an Olympic hurdler and the balance of a ballerina.
Alcaraz, who can also take a mean free-kick and thrives in a variety of midfield roles, scored nine times in 42 matches for Racing Club during the 2022 season. He’s also been dubbed their most exciting young talent since a certain Lautaro Martinez.
“We have an option in England and Portugal,” Lopez claims. “But neither the Inter nor Milan directors have contacted me recently.
“We are waiting. We’ve been talking to important clubs. Around 15 million euros (could be enough to sign him). Even if the fee could be reduced by adding a sell-on clause for Racing.”
Alcaraz made most of his 42 appearances during Racing’s 2022 season in central midfield. Though he can also play wide on the right if required. His arrival could give Julen Lopetegui’s goal-shy Wolves side some much-needed cutting edge and creativity in the final third.
