There is a great deal of buzz surrounding the West Midlands derby this weekend, with Steve Bruce preparing to take charge of Aston Villa for the very first time and Walter Zenga aiming to find consistency for his Wolves squad.
The stakes are high for both clubs and as reported by Express & Star, Wolves in particular will not want to be reminded of one specific statistic.
Zenga’s side have not fared well over the years against their rivals away from home, with the club picking up just two victories in the past five decades in 1980 and 2011.

The other 13 games were not as fortunate, and Wolves will be fully aware of how rarely they are able to get one over on Villa away from home.
However, this season the club have pulled out the big guns when it comes to visiting big sides as evidenced by their victories over Birmingham City and Newcastle United at St Andrew’s and St James Park respectively.
Some would say that puts even more pressure on Villa to keep up that high standard, especially considering they have picked up just one league win all season. Whatever the case, it is set to be a fiery encounter between two sides who simply cannot afford to lose.
