Everton meet Wolverhampton Wanderers in the Premier League tonight, and the two teams look set to battle over the signature of Stoke City’s Harry Souttar.

The Sunday Mirror (31/10, p66) claim that Souttar is attracting major Premier League interest off the back of his exploits with Stoke.

Everton have been very keen, sending Duncan Ferguson to scout him on more than one occasion this season.

Tottenham and Aston Villa are keen too, but Wolverhampton Wanderers are now believed to be keen too.

Willy Body has just over 18 months left on his deal, and with both Boly and Romain Saiss set to head off to the Africa Cup of Nations, Wolves need more defensive cover.

The 23-year-old is a huge presence at 6ft 6in tall and already has six goals in eight caps for Australia.

Souttar can bolster Wolves back line for years

There are still high hopes for Max Kilman, but Souttar could give Wolves a centre back to build around for years.

At just 23, Souttar has huge potential and is already shining in the Championship.

Former Wolves striker Stephen Elliott has hailed Souttar, branding him ‘absolutely immense’ from his time on loan at Fleetwood Town.

A dominant centre back in the air who is now developing with the ball at his feet, Souttar could have it all.

Stoke won’t sell on the cheap, but Souttar could prove to be a real coup for Wolves – if they can beat Everton to his signature.
