Wolverhampton Wanderers have made it three Premier League wins in a row and consolidated their hold on seventh place in the table thanks to a solid 3-1 win over Everton at Goodison Park.

The visitors took the lead after just seven minutes after Leighton Baines had fouled Matt Doherty in the area, prompting referee Lee Mason to award a penalty, which Ruben Neves side-footed into the bottom left corner of the net.

Everton restored parity on 27 minutes through Andre Gomes, who collected a layoff from Cenk Tosun before driving a ferocious effort into the top corner of his compatriot Rui Patrício’s net from range.

However, Michael Keane’s tug on Diogo Jota’s shirt shortly before the break gave Wolves the opportunity to threaten from a free kick and Joao Moutinho’s delivery fell perfectly for Raul Jimenez, who duly headed home for his 11th goal of the season.

Jimenez and Jota were involved for Wolves’ third on 66 minutes as the former’s pass into the path of the latter yielded an effort which was charged down, only for Leander Dendoncker to make the most of it with a fierce effort into the roof of the net for his first Wanderers goal.

Here is some of the Twitter reaction to the win from some of the Wolves fanbase, with some noticing that sixth place – and European qualification – is just seven points ahead at present:
