A number of Wolverhampton Wanderers fans have taken to Twitter to celebrate the news that Ruben Vinagre has committed his future to the Premier League club until 2024 (official Wolves website).

The 20-year-old arrived at Molineux in the summer of 2017 on an initial season-long loan from French sides Monaco and made his senior debut for Wolves on 8 August in an EFL Cup victory against Yeovil Town.

Vinagre got relatively little game time for Wolves in their Championship-winning season, making just 14 appearances in all competitions (Transfermarkt), but he did score his first senior goal in a 4-0 victory over Burton Albion in September 2017.

Given the player’s immense potential, the club made the move permanent the following summer, and since then Vinagre has truly gone from strength to strength in the Old Gold along with the club itself.

Following promotion to the top flight, the youngster featured in 17 league games and 21 in all appearances. playing his part in Wolves’ superb run to the FA Cup semi-finals and seventh-placed finish in the table, complete with numerous big scalps.
