The Wolves academy graduate is highly rated at Molineux and has been impressing on loan at Slovakia’s Dunajska Streda.
Wolverhampton Wanderers have announced that highly rated academy graduate Connor Ronan has signed a new contract with the Premier League club which keeps him at Molineux until the summer of 2021.
The 21-year-old midfielder is currently enjoying a fruitful loan with Dunajska Streda in the top tier of Slovakian football and has helped them secure a spot in the Europa League, according to the Wolves website.
Ronan, a Republic of Ireland Under-21 international, made his first senior appearance for the West Midlands side in December 2016 after impressing with the Under-23s and has since played 13 times for the first team.
With the U23s, the playmaker made three appearances in the Checkatrade Trophy, where he scored against Accrington Stanley, and he has also had loan spells at League One clubs Portsmouth and Walsall.
With Wolves booking a spot in the Europa League this term following Watford’s defeat to Manchester City in the FA Cup final, there could potentially be a chance for some of the club’s youngsters and fringe players to be drafted in due to the additional workload, which bodes well for the likes of Ronan.
