Wolves have finished seventh in the Premier League after Leicester City lost at Manchester City on Monday.

With one Premier League game to spare, Wolverhampton Wanderers have succeeded in sealing seventh place in the table, a remarkable achievement for the Molineux side considering this season is their first back in the top flight.
There will always be questions over how a newly promoted side will cope in the top flight after coming up from the Championship, and indeed, Wolves’ two fellow risers – Cardiff City and Fulham – have gone straight back down again.
No such issues for Nuno Espirito Santo’s charges, who have enjoyed a wonderful season in which they played swashbuckling football, not only impressing in the league but also reaching the semi-finals of the FA Cup.
Admittedly there were some nervy moments, not least the downturn in form in November that raised some alarm bells, but Wolves shook that off in style with wins over Chelsea, Newcastle and Bournemouth in December, and they have never really looked back.
Only Leicester City could have knocked Wolves off seventh place ahead of Monday night’s game at Manchester City, but Vincent Kompany’s winner ensured that the Molineux outfit could not be caught up, cementing their highest league position since 1979-80.
