Wolves have announced that they’ve parted company with their managing director, who leaves Molineux after four-and-a-half years.
A number of Wolverhampton Wanderers fans have taken to Twitter to express their shock at the news of managing director Laurie Dalrymple leaving Molineux.
A statement on the Wolves website on Wednesday evening confirmed that Dalrymple has had his contract ended and has been placed on garden leave with immediate effect.
According to Sky Sports News, there is no suggestion of misconduct on the part of Dalrymple, but “it is understood” that there has been a gradual deterioration in relationships between him and chairman Jeff Shi, which has led to the decision.
Initially hired as head of commercial affairs, Dalrymple leaves Molineux after four-and-a-half years, three of which have been in his current position, overseeing all commercial, stadium and non-football administrative staff at the club.
The Wanderers statement added that Dalrymple will not be replaced immediately but instead, Shi will take on some of the managing director’s key responsibilities.
