Wolverhampton Wanderers have brought the Real Madrid and Spain Under-21 defender to Molineux on loan.

A number of Wolverhampton Wanderers fans have taken to Twitter to give their thoughts on Real Madrid defender Jesus Vallejo joining the Molineux club on a season-long loan (official Wolves website).

The 22-year-old, who captained Spain’s Under-21 side to European Championship glory in June, is the long-awaited first signing made by Wolves this summer ahead of an exciting campaign for the Premier League club.

Vallejo joined Real Madrid from Real Zaragoza in 2015 and, although he has made just 19 appearances for Los Blancos, Zinedine Zidane sees a big future for him and was happy to sanction his loan in order for him to gain first team experience (The Sun).

Here is what some Wolves fans – many of whom had been eagerly awaiting the first signing of the summer – said on social media regarding the centre-back’s arrival at Molineux:

The loan spell with Wolves will be the Vallejo’s third stint away from the Bernabeu, as he made a temporary return to Zaragoza before spending the 2016-17 campaign with Bundesliga side Eintracht Frankfurt.

Vallejo met his new teammates after their 2-0 Europa League win over Crusaders at Molineux on Thursday and could make his debut in the second leg next week.
