The Wolverhampton Wanderers loanee continues to struggle at Molineux for Nuno Espirito Santo’s side.

A number of Wolverhampton Wanderers fans have taken to Twitter to comment on their side’s performance in the League Cup and one player who came under some criticism was Jesus Vallejo.

The 22-year-old was named in the Wolves starting XI by Nuno Espirito Santo, who made wholesale changes and picked a youthful team to take on Aston Villa in Wednesday night’s game in Birmingham.

Vallejo has largely flattered to deceive in the old gold since his arrival to Molineux on loan from Real Madrid and once again he cut a nervous figure against the Villans, often handing possession back to the opposition with his punts upfield, and was slow in reacting to quite a few loose balls too.

While Wolves goalkeeper John Ruddy copped a fair bit of flak for his lacklustre display in between the sticks, Vallejo was one of the outfield players who received the most criticism in the 2-1 loss, with some social media reaction below.

Anwar El Ghazi’s close-range shot got the better of Ruddy to put Villa ahead just before the half-hour mark before Patrick Cutrone tapped in Taylor Perry’s pass to equalise on 54 minutes, but Ahmed Elmohamady’s flick from a Henri Lansbury free kick not long after saw the hosts eventually advance at the expense of their fellow West Midlanders.
