Wolverhampton Wanderers have paid tribute to Emmanuel Frimpong after the former Wolves loanee announced his retirement at the age of 27.
Frimpong, who came through Arsenal’s youth academy, has battled serious knee injuries over the years and has been a free agent since his spell with Swedish side Ermis Aradippou ended in 2017.
While on the Gunners’ books, the Ghana international had a stint on loan at Molineux in 2012, and even though he only made five appearances for Wanderers, he has a lot of love for the club, who likewise remain very fond of him.
Indeed, Frimpong was once asked on Twitter why he loves Wolves so much, and this was his reply:
Following the player’s announcement of his retirement on Twitter this week, Wolves posted a tweet of their own, tagging the player’s handle, and wished him all the best:

Frimpong made just six appearances during his time at the Emirates Stadium before he joined Barnsley in January 2014, and after his Oakwell stint he played for Russian sides Ufa and Arsenal Tula, and Sweden’s AFC Eskilstuna (Transfermarkt).
